Hebden Bridge Threshold Singers

We are Hebden Bridge Threshold Singers, a newly formed Threshold Choir who meets regularly on Thursday mornings near Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire (England). We have enjoyed getting to know each other and the songs. We are a collaborative group, and we welcome suggestions about how we can improve our singing and interpretations of the songs.

We sing at a local care home. When we visit, all of our practice and reasons for singing become clear. We can feel the soothing effect the songs have on people, both the recipient and their family. We've been rewarded by some of the most beautiful smiles we've ever seen.

We are not religious, but there is definitely a spiritual aspect to our work. When we finish our singing practice, we gather in a circle and dedicate our singing to those who are passing on that day and for those who need it, in the belief that our songs travel out into the universe and find their homes, wherever they are needed. If this sounds like something you would like to try, then you're most welcome to come to a couple of practices and see if it's a good fit for you.
